Take Home Test


Course Objectives:

(1) to gain a sense of the breadth and impact of classical rhetorical theory on Western religious thought; (2) to establish a general model of the historical progression of Western rhetorical traditions; (3) to explore the diversity of rhetorical analysis; (4) and to apply those analytical methods to specific examples of contemporary religious expression.

AB: 92 - 88%
B: 87 - 83%
BC: 82 - 78%
C: 77 - 70%
D: 69-60%
F: below 60%

Individual Assignments with Weights

Undergraduate Students

20%: discussion participation
40%: examination
40%: take home essay

The paper must be 2 - 4 pages/500 - 1000 words.
The topic must be a response to a question handed out at the completion of the exam.
The paper must be emailed to rgh@rghoward.com by the due date via email attachment in pdf., .rtf, .or .doc format.

Graduate Students

20% discussion participation
80% seminar length paper

The paper must be 20 -30 pages/6,000 - 10,000 words.
The topic must be approved by the instructor in face-to-face or email correspondence.
The paper must be emailed to rgh@rghoward.com by the due date via email attachment in pdf., .rtf, .or .doc format.
